From Rock to Rockstar: How to Get (and Keep) Men Singing

Turning BOYS Who “Can’t Sing” Into MEN who “Can’t NOT Sing” is the dream of every middle school and high school director.  In this workshop, Chris combines surveys and research to give a formula for working with the expanding adolescent male voice.  From getting administrators on board to recruiting to choosing literature to the physical and psychological effects of the changing voice, Chris gives practical advice on how to work with young men.  The workshop culminates with a workshop with YOUR men showing how to get them singing quickly and LOVING what they are singing.

Eek, Ay, Agh!, Oh My, Eww!: Vowel unification in the choral rehearsal

The sound of the vowel is the sound of the choir.  How can we train our choirs of all ages to sing beautiful vowel sounds?  Activities suggested include kinesthetic and visual aids, imagery, and technical terms to aid in approaching a more beautiful sound.
